Nanette Lepore: Designer and Collector

Nanette Lepore's chic and free spirited fashion designs are all about femininity and modernity...but her eclectic taste in interiors and enthusiasm for collecting is what appeals to me most.  The fashion designer lives in an 1849 Italianate townhouse in Manhattan's West Village.  This Victorian gem was decorated by Jonathan Adler and is chock full of fabulous vintage finds.  A little old, combined with a little new, equals my idea of great design...Happy Friday...Enjoy!

Look at the ceiling height...

Her living room is one of my all time favorites. . .Its warm and cozy with unexpected color, vintage pieces and lots of texture.
Great Portrait of Eva Peron.

What a pretty bed, isn't it?  Orange and purple..great combinations.

This tufted ottoman is gorgeous..and it looks like both sides flip up for storage too!

This courtyard is dreamy...perfect for gathering friends and family. I really like this mosaic pattern. Nice way to bring in lots of color.

I was searching the web and came across this fabulous and very chic, San Francisco based design team, Massucco Warner Miller.  Their work combined offers a refined sophistication, tradition with a twist and  a modern whimsy.  I had to share....Enjoy!

Look at this powder room sink..

Love what they did with this window niche...

Ahh coral...

Pretty girls room...and look as the office in the closet.

I really like this mirror...

and this turquoise chandelier...

Hope you enjoy their work as much as I do.

Amanda Nisbet: Designer I admire

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  I spent most of my weekend thinking about my dreams and what would really make me happy. I recently decided to go back into the workforce after leaving my job as an interior designer late December to try my hand at full time "blogging" and a few other things... I think It's doing well so far and I'm certainly not going to stop, but I miss being out there.  I truly miss working in the city and I miss all of the wonderful experiences that come with it.  I love interior design and I'm still not entirely sure about what direction it will take me, but I am open to new opportunities. One of my dreams would be to work with an incredibly talented, savvy, inspired and witty designer and she would make me her protege and....well, I'll leave that up to your imagination.  I'm sure we all have a passion that we dream big about!

I took the leap today...I big one. I sent out my resume to two very prestigious and respected designers.  One of which, was Amanda Nisbet.  I have long been an admirer of her work and I swear, every time I see a picture of her, I smile. I feel like she is an amazing woman. I don't know if I will get a response, but at least I tried. Hey, I once got a call back from a company I interviewed for,  three years later. I got the job too!

I am proud of myself. I can't believe that the action of just sending my resume by email was making my heart beat faster. You probably know all about Amanda already, but if you're anything like me, I'm sure you just can't get enough of her design...Enjoy!

This picture is from the Oct. 2006 issue of House and Garden magazine and it was the first time I had ever heard of Amanda Nisbet.  I thought her ability to combine color and pattern was awsome. I actually ripped out this page and put it in my inspiration folder.

Amanda is sending you off with a smile!
