The best "Farm Burger" Atlanta..

I don't know if it's crazy to blog about a burger joint in Atlanta, but I loved it so much that I had to share.  I'm in Atlanta to attend a two day Design Camp and I arrived a day early to have some  "me" time. I'm walking around town looking for a place to have dinner and I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw a place called Farm Burger!  Of course I can't help myself because I"m thinking, "what's a farm burger"?. Which is probably the natural reaction for most who have never heard of this place .
As I enter to stand online, of course I'm looking around reading the menu boards and there it is.. the definition of farm burger.

Farm burger wants you to think about your burger - what it is and where it's from.
Our burgers  are  made from 100% grassfed beef that is dry-aged and ground fresh.
Our cows are raised on the sweet grasses of the southeast, and never fed antibiotics, hormones, or grain.
Our menu is seasonal and sourced from local farms.
Our space is convivial and comfortable; because eating is a celebration to be shared.
Our food makes ethical eating easy.

Well... It sure made ME want to try one!  I grab a menu and stand on line. So you order before you're seated, which is cool.  You can build your own burger and you can order sweet teas, root bear, milkshakes, floats.. or local draft beers, even wine. I ordered a beer, which is make local, and it was fantastic!

Aside from the food, of course, I'm scoping out the décor.  It's very relaxed with a vintage, rustic feel. The walls are wood planks, with exposed wood beams, industrial stools and chairs and dark, distressed concrete floors.   I love the service details.. I sat at the bar and there were stations set up with canning jars filled with silverware, and wire baskets with condiments.  The server was making a milkshake and pulled out a vintage milk bottle! Every detail is addressed.
It was about 6:30 and the place was jam packed.  It's not you're average burger joint...it's a very cool atmosphere. I felt comfortable and it's definitely a place you could go with a group of friends, your family or alone if you prefer.  The food, the beer and décor was great and I only spent $21.00 with a tip!
I hope there's a Farm Burger coming to NY soon!

Enjoy..

Soho house NYC - industrial vintage chic

Oh, how I wish I could stay at Soho House NYC.  Keep wishin' Mimi and pretty much most of us real peeps out there... cause it's a members only club.   The private member' club are for those who are in the film, media or creative industries. Perspective members need to be nominated by TWO existing members.. but thankfully for them, it could be members of ANY 11 Soho houses located around the globe.   And then there's the nominal membership fees.

You know.. come to think of it.. I may have a window of opportunity, since I am in the creative industry!  One never knows...

Emerald green inspiration...

I'm sure you already know that emerald green is the 2013 Pantone color of the year. So appropriate too, since the color green also symbolizes growth, renewal and rebirth.  A little inspiration goes a long way.

A little note for 2013...

January 1st and I feel like I have accomplished so much in preparation for 2013.  I love it!
I spent the afternoon reading and writing... trying to clearly define my true passion and goals for this year.  Still a work in progress, but that's what it's always about isn't it?  It's always a work in progress and that is a step or two in the right direction.

I have to make decisions that will change my path again, but I have to believe that everything is perfect and happening exactly the way it should be. I sound like you Darl..;)

A very good friend of mine sent me what he called " a little note for new year's from me." It inspired me a great deal and I would like to share it with you.

" There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it.

It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions.  It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open.  You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work.  You have to keep yourself open and aware to the urges that motivate you.  Keep the Channel open...

No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time.  There is only a queer divine dissatisfaction, blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than others."

- Martha Graham, 1943

I hope you find it as inspiring as I do.

Enjoy!
